I build AI-powered security software.
I share everything I learn.

Who I am

My name is Khurram. I'm a software engineer and founder based in Pakistan, with 14 years of experience building iOS and Android products. I'm currently the co-founder and CEO of Neurix, a pre-seed security startup building behavioral authentication technology using on-device machine learning.

CoreThreads is my space to think out loud about the things I work with every day: artificial intelligence, information security, software architecture, and the reality of building a technology company from scratch. Everything I publish here is grounded in practice. I don't write about things I haven't built or problems I haven't faced.

What I'm Building

neurix

Neurix is an AI-powered security startup building behavioral authentication through an on-device SDK. Instead of passwords or OTPs, Neurix learns how a user naturally interacts with their device — scroll patterns, navigation behaviour, touch dynamics — and uses that to continuously verify identity without friction.

Everything runs on-device. No biometric data leaves the phone. No cloud dependency. GDPR, HIPAA, and PDPA compliant by design.

I'm currently in pre-seed fundraising in the MENA region, participating in Startupbootcamp, and building the product in public through CoreThreads.

My Background

I've spent 14 years building mobile software across iOS and Android — everything from consumer apps to enterprise systems. Before founding Neurix, I worked as a senior engineer and engineering manager, shipping products used by hundreds of thousands of people.

My technical foundation is in mobile development: Swift, Kotlin, Swift Package Manager, Core ML, on-device ML with LightGBM. In the last two years I've gone deep into AI engineering — local LLMs, RAG pipelines, agentic systems, and automation workflows using n8n and Ollama on Apple Silicon.

Security is not an afterthought for me. I build security products. I think about threat models, privacy-preserving architectures, and behavioral signals as part of my daily work — not as a weekend hobby.

Why CoreThreads

I started CoreThreads because the content I wanted to consume didn't exist. Most AI content is either too shallow ("here's what ChatGPT can do") or too academic (unreachable research papers). Most security content is compliance-focused rather than engineering-focused. And most founder content is either a success story retold in hindsight or a failure porn narrative.

CoreThreads is the channel I wished existed: practitioner-first, specific, honest about tradeoffs, and built around the intersection of AI, security, and software development. I publish what I learn as I learn it — including the parts that don't work.
